Ruth E. Ginter was born in Painesville, Ohio April 1, 1926 and died in Payson, Ariz. June 25, 2008, after a heroic struggle against Alzheimer’s disease.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Richard E. Ginter, M.D., Radiology, who died in 2004.
She is survived by their children: Greg, Lindsey, Timothy, Sue, and Garth, and their spouses, Alyce, Mai, Dennis, and Louise, and grandchildren, Marianne, Erika, Eden, Graham, Wesley, Rose Diana, and Joseph Richard, and several great-grandchildren.
Formerly of Sacramento, Calif., where she raised her family, Mrs. Ginter was an accomplished and award-winning equestrian — a skill she developed late in life
One home bedroom was wall-to-wall ribbons and trophies. Her Prince Leo Lauro — a 17-hand high quarter horse — was nationally ranked. She reveled in riding him and other horses, in Western Pleasure classes, in both regional and national championships, including the Cow Palace in San Francisco.
