Longhorn football coaches took a group of athletes to Arizona State University in Tempe June 4 to participate in a passing tournament and Big Man competitions. The Payson contingent compiled an unofficial tournament record of 5-1 against teams from Prescott, Round Valley, Cienega, Gila Ridge, Mountain Pointe and Raymond Kellis. Payson's "Big Men" finished third out of 18 teams in the brutal tug of war contest.

Always one of the first happenings at a Relay for Life event is the walk the cancer survivors take around the the field. Cancer survivors led off the Payson event Friday night just after 6. Once the survivors have finished their walk supporters follow and at least one member from each of the teams walk throughout the night until the event ends at 6 a.m. on Saturday.
