Don Herlov of Western Woodworks explained how he and his wife, Trudy, make the intricate wood artwork they sell. Trudy draws out the pieces and Don cuts and shapes them with saws and sanders. None of the wood is stained to give it color, they are all the grain colors of the various types of wood. The pieces are given a coat of varnish as a finishing touch. He was showing his work at the Mazatzal Casino Craft and Art Fair, Saturday, Nov. 22. Some of the crafts included Native American jewelry, quilts, embroidery work, woodworking and metal art.
