This was the third time the Rim Country Challenge has been presented and it drew a field of more than 200 runners. Sara Lange released her disc with fine form and eyes of hope at the tee off of the 12th basket. Disc golf today at Rumsey Park.
Sara Lange added english and balance to this shot on the thirteenth basket as she and her fellow players made their way around the 18 basket course, Saturday, Oct. 4. The course proved to be a challenge for players of all skills as the terrain, and weather were huge factors in the success of each basket.
It's hard to tell if Bobbi Polk is reaching for the disc or pushing the disc towards the basket. Photographs are fun that way. Just like the second annual disc golf tournament that took place Saturday, Oct. 4, in Rumsey Park.
Bobbi Polk had a strong release on this throw but the disc broke left and hit a tree dead center. Don't you hate it when that happens?
With great concentration Leslie Pitzen threw her disc on a rising trajectory hoping to avoid some trees and drop close to the 12th basket. Not quite.
The disc Leslie Pitzen threw at basket 13 rolled over the top and dropped to the side. It was an Oh No, moment. The disc golf tournament in Rumsey Park was a mental as well as physical challenge, well worth the degree of concentration required.
Michael Gaffney seemed to make difficult shots look easy, as he threw this disc around some trees and landed it close to the basket for an easy chip shot, during the disc gold tournament, Saturday, Oct. 4 in Rumsey Park.
Jeremiah Atwood throws what looks like an easy shot, but long lenses can shorten one's perspective. The distance is farther than it looks. He did make it though.
Jesse Perkins throws this disc hard against the wind in hopes of curving it into the 7th basket. The difficult course for the second annual disc golf tournament was staged mostly on the southwest side of Rumsey Park, behind the Kiwanis ball fields and in the woods behind the ramadas. The tournament took place Saturday, Oct. 4.
