Artists of the Rim Gallery features a wide array of works by Rim Country artists and provides an opportunity to meet the artists.
This structure is the remnant of an arrastre. A burro pulled a grinding stone around and around in this pit to crush the gold ore. Several of these arrastre ruins can be found along the lower East Verde River.
Crackerjack Mine, seen from a distance here, is one of the mines of the area's early prospectors. It is located on Buckhorn Mesa.
Organizers expect more Rim Country contestants in this year's derby. Past derbies have been dominated by Phoenix drivers.
The roar of engines and the clash of crashing metal and the cheers of fans will close the 54th Annual Northern Gila County Fair with the return of Honeycutt Rodeo's demolition derby.
