Learn the essentials of mountain biking with an urban mountain bike ride hosted by the Payson Parks and Recreation Department. The free program is planned from 10 a.m. to noon, Sunday, Oct. 12, but registration is currently taking place at the parks office in Green Valley Park. The program includes a trail ride on paved and nonpaved routes in town. Learn bike set-up, maintenance and repair, and specific mountain biking techniques. A mountain bike and helmet are required. It is also recommended participants bring a tire repair kit and pump. For more information, call (928) 474-5242, ext. 7.
