A crowd of fans cheered every weigh-in moment as the top-10 anglers gathered at Walmart to see who would win the first prize of $25,000 and a new bass boat.
With a huge crowd of onlookers at the weigh-in, vantage points — even for the younger set — were hard to find.

Pat Liddy’s dog, Jake, runs through the obstacle course and makes it look easy. Jake won in his class during the first day of the Dog Agility competition conducted at Payson Elementary School grounds, Saturday and Sunday, April 18-19.

Weishaar is somewhat of a celebrity, as he has Asperger’s syndrome, a form of autism. His success since acquiring the golden retriever has been the subject of several newspaper stories and a television interview. Since obtaining Candy four years ago, he has bonded with the her and developed and grown as an individual through his contact with the dog. Candy is an assistance dog received from North Star Foundation, which specializes in placing dogs with children with autism.
