Metcalf and his two award-winning and cherished vehicles, on the left, a 1940 Ford and on the right, a 1932 Ford. It takes Metcalf several hours to clean the white Ford because it attracts bugs like moths to a flame. He protects the front grill with a custom leather bra.

It’s been 50 years since Gordon Metcalf laid a little scratch down on the drag strips of Southern California, but today he is once again behind the wheel, this time of two classic Fords.
