Advocates for Fossil Creek, which flows off the Rim west of Pine, are protesting a plan to return about 500 cattle to 42,000 acres of land that drains into the creek. Designated as a “wild and scenic river,” the creek harbors a wealth of endangered species.

Pat Willis (center) is being honored by his friends in the Mogollon Sporting Association with the renaming of a stock tank. The former Pasture Tank will now be known as the Pat Willis Tank. Willis has been a Rim community leader for years.
Laural Corely puts finishing touches on a painting of a grizzly bear during an artist’s workshop taught by Kelby Love, a well-known artist whose clients include Field and Stream, National Geographic, and Outdoor Life. Gloria Shannon was the workshop presenter and the success of this workshop will determine if Artists of the Rim Gallery sponsors future events of this kind.
Thirty-two ladies enjoyed a delicious potluck and a fun competition of dominos at the Christopher Creek Bible Fellowship last week.
Thirteen lucky ladies received door prizes at the second annual dominoes competition held in Christopher Creek last week for highest and lowest score, the quietest, the loudest, the smartest, etc. The lucky gals were, Corky Cook, Linda Stailey, Mimi Tidwell, Sandy Kalmar, Eileen Kittock, Vicki Grootegoed, Betty Starr, Nancy Yoakum, Helen McKenzie, Dara Sutton and Judie Desrochers.
