A winter storm just before Christmas snarled highway traffic for miles when DPS delayed closing the road, but this week’s storms delivered only flurries of snow and rain.

Steve Ellis of Steve’s ACDelco Pro Lube and Tire Center recently began offering nitrogen replacement for tires. All new tires sold at the shop will also receive an initial fill with nitrogen.
Renee Patrick is one of the many jazz artists, both vocalists and instrumentalists, featured on a two-volume CD set recorded at Payson Community Presbyterian Church over the last several years. The CD is being offered by Payson Friends of Jazz, which presents monthly jazz concerts, to anyone who makes a $25 donation or more to the church to help meet a financial shortfall this year. Deanna Biesemeyer models the squirrel suit she made to help raise donations for the Payson Area Food Drive, which has hit 70 percent of its cash goals.
This cabin belonged to Isadore Christopher, a rancher who settled in the late 1800s, giving Christopher Creek its name. The cabin is now owned by the Ashby family and is on private property. But old-timers still tell the strange tale of the day Apache raiders burned down Christopher’s original cabin near this same spot.
