A new benefit for the Payson Humane Society — Payson Pet-A-Palooza pet fair and adopt-a-thon — will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 24 at the Payson Safeway. There will be music, food and fun for the whole family, including contests for pets (which must be vaccinated and well behaved). There will be demonstrations by the Gila County Sheriff’s Office K9 dogs, assistance dogs, dog training, pet grooming and 4-H. Venture Crew 7354 is serving food and there will be a leash-less play area, crafts, art and many pet supply vendors, plus a petting zoo.
