Part of the July 4th activities at Green Valley Park included a tug of war that pitted Rim Country residents against visitors from the Valley and elsewhere. There were two pulls and Payson residents won both competitions.
Oh boy, what our children get to do is always the best part of any fun activity. Just ask these two young people, in about 15 years. They will remember it completely differently than they do now.
Ranee Forney, and Denise and Sarah Bomar ride a buggy pulled by a Llama in the Fourth of July parade. The sign on the side of the buggy is a tribute to Forney's mother Ronzella Zingales, who was very supportative of the Humane Society.
Ashlyn and Taelyn Boocock are in the thick of it and having a great time during the Fourth of July parade down Main Street.
Finding one of the few spots with shade this family and friends took full advantage of the situation.
The extended family of Tom and Claire Waitz, came from Phoenix and Flagstaff and gathered at Green Valley Park to participate in the Fourth of July festivities.

Saluting the colors is a time honored tradition at events of this particular nature, especially during the birthday celebration of our nation.

Lee Littler works on a new creation during the First Friday on Main Street Block Party, July 3. Littler’s latest creations are pine cone creatures called Cone Critters that he puts together and formulates in whimsical ways.
Volunteers and staff share the work at the Payson Senior Center to make the daily meal program a success.
Jazz vocalist Sherry Petta will be the guest artist featured at the next Payson Friends of Jazz Concert at 2 p.m., Sunday, July 12 at the Community Presbyterian Church, 800 W. Main St. A $5 donation at the door is requested.
Header Garrett Haught has his rope around a calf as he waits for heeler Travis Ericsson to unleash his lasso. Action took place last year in the Ted Meredith Memorial Roping held in Young.
Hunter Glover (132) and Cody McElroy (14) battle for first place in the School Boy division at motocross races held July 4 at Payson Event Center. McElroy eventually finished first and Glover was second. Both road Honda motorcycles.
