The Rim Area Gardeners will sponsor the 2009 Mogollon Garden Tour from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, June 13. This is a self-guided tour with a wonderful sampling of the Rim area’s finest gardens. At each garden there will be a representative of the Rim Area Garden Club to greet and guide guests through the garden. There are examples of using gray water, water features and low water use (Xeriscape) plants in gardens large and small. This year, the tour also features Artists in the Garden, which will provide guests an opportunity to see the talent of Rim Country artists as it relates to the garden. There will be pottery to wind chimes to wood birdhouses and feeders as well as a garden bench to enjoy. Tickets and further information can be acquired at Ace Hardware, Plant Fair Nursery, the Rim Country Regional Chamber of Commerce, and the Payson and Pine libraries. Look for the green thumb directional signs to show the way, and get a ticket and map at any garden on the tour. Tickets are $5 and proceeds from the garden tour assist the club in community service projects.
