The public is invited to see a display of antique Fords from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, March 28 at Steve Coury Ford in Star Valley. A 1924 Model T and a 1929 Model A, along with vehicles from the ’50s and ’60s will be featured. Refreshments will be provided. The cars belong to members of The Rim Country Classic Auto Club.
Residents of the Rim Country continue to fight to keep the state from making Tonto Natural Bridge another casualty of the budget crisis.
Would you like a beautiful piece of handcrafted furniture on which to display your prized fishing poles? This display stand was built by the advanced wood working students of Richard Alvarez at Payson High School for the special events at the Optimist Fishing Festival, which will start at 8 a.m., Saturday, March 28 at Green Valley Park. This is just one of the many items the community’s businesses and residents have donated for the silent auction and other festivities planned. The display case can be seen at National Bank for closer inspection.

Cody York shows some of his basketball wizardry while his coach, Kenny Hayes, looks on. York was named as a member of the North team for the annual Arizona Basketball Coaches Association All-Star team.
Lady Longhorn seniors Christina Deaton, Rose Hardt, Kayla Morgan, Cydney Figueroa and Jenna Robertson say good-bye to coach Stacy Anderson who will be leaving PHS at the end of the school year. Deaton, Morgan, Figueroa and Robertson were recently named Arizona Basketball Coaches Association all-stars.
These large baby grizzly bears were the center of attention during a visit to the Out of Africa Wildlife Park.
Riley, Garret, Harold and Jodie Hamblin chip away at some rocks on a small hillside and place their finds in plastic bags.
Everyone started out in pretty much the same area, but soon broke off into small groups as the hunt progressed and fossils were found.
Brandon Rafter found it easier to loosen this rock with a stick. He kept at it until it was out of the ground. He liked the rock, but no imprint of any creature was found.
David Mikulak acts as transportation for son Andrew as they listen to Michael Rose explain the terrain, the types of rocks which will most likely contain fossils, and the best places to look.
Brent Whetstone hands a small fossil to Michael Rose to identify a find he made early in the hunt at the Paleo Site near Kohl’s Ranch. Whetstone, his wife Christine and daughter Ashlynd had an exciting day searching for fossils and hiking in the area.
