Shea Shields learned about fly-tying and fly fishing from Payson Flycaster member Gary Altman at the May 9 Wildlife Fair. Youngsters in grades 1-4 will get a chance to learn age-appropriate fishing techniques from professional bass fisherman Mark Kile from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 3 at Green Valley Lake. The class meets at the Payson Parks, Recreation and Tourism Office, 1000 W. Country Club Drive. All fishing equipment and bait for the class is provided. Space is limited, so register early. The registration deadline is Tuesday, June 2 and the cost is $5 per child. Prospective participants can register online at www.paysonparks.com or at the Payson Parks and Recreation Office.
