Tammie Lewis throws a rope on a calf at the Professional Women’s Rodeo Association opening to the Gary Hardt Memorial Spring Rodeo at the Payson Event Center. The event drew world champion women riders from all over the country, but only about 100 spectators. The Thursday night competition kicks off the Spring Rodeo, sponsored by the Pro Rodeo Committee. Admission was a can of food for a charity fund-raising drive. The rodeo highlights a busy weekend in Rim Country, with a host of events taking place, including the Aero Fair.
