Sasha Parsons holds Felix during the Nov. 6 First Friday Humane Society of Central Arizona fund-raising bake sale at Bootleg Alley. When Gila County Animal Control picked up Felix on Aug. 25, the HSCAZ staff noticed right away that he had a sore on his throat. The sore was treated, but later it turned into a big abscess which required surgery. The HSCAZ staff held the bake sale to raise money to pay Felix’s vet bill.
