Well it looks as if I may have spoken too soon in my last column where I talked about an extended summer. Kind of looks like the cooler weather is on the way. Which is great because fall in Christopher Creek is always beautiful. The sights and smells are truly terrific during the fall.
The next fund-raiser for the Fireflies will be in May with the feature to be on breakfast with biscuits and gravy and chorizo burros. Until then, the Fireflies will take a winter break and they will resume activities in April. Brrrr! It has been a bit chilly the past few days. My thermometer has been reading 30 degrees at 6:30 in the morning. There has not been any frost yet, my few lonely tomatoes still seem to be holding their own, but I think it’s time to take them off the vines.
