The buck stops here. This whitetail deer is only a spike, but in a few years he’ll be a full-grown buck, out to impress the does. The spike, who was accompanied by another about the same size, stopped for a look-see Tuesday afternoon in Pine.

Octoberfest raises money for school and food bank
Not only was the Octoberfest at the Rimside Grill a lot of fun for those attending, but the event raised $800 for the Pine-Strawberry School and $200 for the Pine-Strawberry Food Bank. With the budget cuts and poor economy, that is a tremendous boost to both organizations.
