The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program is designed to help communities prepare for effective disaster response through training and planning. The local CERT, sponsored by the Payson Fire Department, is providing CERT training in Pine starting at 9 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 13, Saturday, Feb. 27 and Saturday, March 6. The training will be presented at the LDS Church at corner of Pine Creek Road and Highway 87 in Pine. The training that CERT members receive further enhances community preparedness and through awareness it potentially mitigates damage caused as a result of disasters.
