The motto of the Owens Brothers’ sawmill in Payson was “Where your home begins” and it is where many builders bought the wood to not only build homes in the Rim Country, but for construction around the state.
The mill was also “the paycheck,” said Pat Haught Cline in an interview with the Roundup for the 125th anniversary of the founding of Payson.
