Payson High School’s Big Band Music Machine performed Saturday in Pine as part of the Fire on the Rim festivities. The jazz and rock ’n’ roll concert featured both contemporary and retro-styled musical numbers to the delight of the concert-goers and packed a powerful punch from the brass and woodwind sections with able backup from the rhythm and percussion section.

For Rachel Weatherly, a beautiful blonde and talented saxophone player, Saturday’s concert in Pine for the Big Band Music Machine played bitter sweet. The concert wrapped up her Payson musical career. In a week she’ll head off to ASU to pursue a degree in dentistry.
