Gila County rancher Minnie Griffin was among several ranchers at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport on Nov. 19 to unveil an exhibition that showcases 100 portraits of ranchers whose families have been ranching for 100 years or more in Arizona. The Griffin family, which operates the Griffin Cattle Ranch north of Globe, joined Phoenix Airport Museum representatives, Phoenix Sky Harbor staff, public officials, art supporters and Arizona artist Scott Baxter to introduce “100 Years 100 Ranchers.” The exhibition is one of four projects that the Arizona Centennial Commission has designated as an Arizona Centennial Legacy. Representing the Griffin family of Gila County at the recent opening of an exhibit showcasing 100 years of ranching in Arizona at Sky Harbor International Airport were, from left, Janet Cline, Minnie Griffin, Sue Johnston and Threse Griffin Hicks. Baxter traveled across the state for more than 10 years to complete the project.The exhibition on Level 3 in Terminal 4 will be showcased until May 12, 2012.
