Shannon Long, owner of Arizona Exotic Pets, argued in vain last week against the town’s new regulations on exotic animals like Bertha, the boa constrictor. The new rules require exotic pet owners to obtain written permission from the chief of police.

Payson’s got it in for lions and tigers and bears — not to mention pythons. That’s the conclusion of Shannon Long, who pleaded in vain last week against the town’s new regulations on “exotic” animals.
