During the play "Addict" a one act play at an alcohol and pill party, several young adults are engaging in risky behavior. Kayla Cranford, far left, Hannah Welker, Dakota Martin, chat and laugh it up while they drink. Cody Schuler offers Leah Brahm a handful of pills that later prove to cause great bodily harm. The first performance was Thursday, with additional shows today at 4 p.m. and Saturday at 7 p.m. in the high school auditorium.

School play tackles impact of drug use
The Payson High School drama department will explore the consequences of dangerous drug use this week with “Addict,” the first play of the year. The play will offer a series of small stories dealing with drug use — and the persistent denial that makes it possible. The first performance is Thursday, Sept. 22 with additional shows through Saturday, Sept 24. at 7 p.m. in the high school auditorium. Fridays show is at 4 p.m.
