The Rim Country Celts’ 2nd Ceilidh is Saturday, Jan. 28 at the Payson Senior Center, 514 W. Main St. This family-friendly event features highland dancers accompanied by a piper, a tribute to Robert Burns, food for sale, Celtic and Gaelic music, and vendors. Tickets are $5 for adults and $2 for children under 16. Dinner is at 5 p.m.; the highland dance performance is at 6 p.m.; the Burns tribute is at 7 p.m.; with more music starting at 7:15 p.m. and continuing to 9 p.m. The performance is by The Maschino School of Highland Dance, accompanied by piper Rick Knowles. The Burns tribute will be by Dennis MacAlister of Clan MacAlister. The Celtic and Gaelic music is by Anne James and the Cinnamon Twist Celtic Band. To raise money to purchase library materials, the Pine Library has started a See’s Candy Sale and will be raffling a Valentine’s gift basket. The candy sales — cash and carry — started Wednesday, Jan. 18 and there is limited availability. Tickets for the gift baskets are $1 for one, six for $5 and 15 for $10. The drawing will be at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 14.
