At its annual volunteer appreciation luncheon at the historic Oxbow Saloon, Time Out Inc. crowned its Ken Maloney and Deb Juenger as Man and Woman of the Year for their volunteer efforts with the women’s shelter and thrift shop.
Maloney has served since 2009 and Juenger since 2005.
Both volunteer at the Time Out Thrift Shop, voted the best thrift store in Payson by Roundup readers, said Cindy Long, program support specialist.
“Ken is the resident ‘clown.’ He works in the yard and keeps everyone smiling,
she said. “Deb wears a few different hats — cashier, sorter and window decorator. The talent and dedication of these two are real blessings to Time Out.”
Time Out officials said all of the organization’s volunteers deserve recognition for “their endless contributions to Time Out.” In 2011, Time Out’s 85 volunteers served nearly 14,000 hours at the shelter, thrift store and transitional housing. Time Out could not exist without them.
The luncheon features western barbecue meal and music entertainment, with help from Ernie Padilla and the Oxbow, DJ Craig, and Ruthie Klaver, Yale said.
