The baseball rivalry between Payson and Snowflake dates back to when the youths were 11- and 12-year-olds meeting in Little League All-Star tournaments. The red-hot competition will be rekindled today when the Longhorns host the Lobos at PHS. The jayvees play at 3 p.m. followed by the varsity at 5:30.

While the Longhorn baseball team is off to an impressive 6-1 start highlighted by a 6-3 win over Division II Bradshaw Mountain, the real test of the team’s mettle should come today, March 12 against longtime rival Snowflake.
