Sitting on the shore of Roosevelt Lake listening to the gentle lapping of the water as a soft dawn spread over the distant mountains, I pondered the comfort it gave me to sit here in a half-crazed world. We human beings can’t seem to withdraw ourselves from the hectic cycle of life. We’re so trapped in our daily routines, commitments and tasks that we forget how to simply be — exist and enjoy the world. So a short rest from “doing” can make all the difference when life seems to pile up around us.
