Easter Egg Hunt April 14, 2009
The joy of children hardly seems to have a limit. Witness this past Saturday and Sunday in Payson and Pine. Children were scrambling with baskets in hand, eyes wide and imaginations wider as they searched for and gathered as many plastic eggs filled with small treats as they could gather in the time allowed. Pine chose to wait a day and conduct their hunt under better weather. Payson steamed ahead at full tilt on Saturday and no one, especially the younger crowd, didn't seem to care what the weather did. Good for them. Here we have some photos from Dennis Fendler and Andy Towle of those respective events. Remember when it was you in the field?
Pine and Strawberry children race to find the hidden candy eggs during the Community Easter Egg Hunt Sunday. The event was postponed from Saturday because of bad weather, but the children did not seem to mind. Additional photos from this event and other Easter activities are on pages 5A, 10A and 12A.
The Pine Community Easter Egg Hunt was postponed from Saturday to Sunday afternoon, but with the sun out, no one seemed to mind. These youngster hunting for eggs were part of a group of nearly 40 children who took part in the festivities.
Other events at the Pine Community Easter Egg Hunt included an egg toss. Meghan Bridges throws the egg to her partner during the activities.
Nancy Guyan, a volunteer for the Payson Parks and Recreation Department, gets into the spirit of the 15th Annual Egg Scramble by wearing a pair of rabbit ears as she makes sure there are enough eggs on the field for each age group.
