Cinch Hook Sliders January 13, 2009
During the summer one would pass by this gouged out area of an old gravel pit known as Cinch Hook and never look twice at it. Ah, but then, the seasons have a way of transforming a landscape from one thing to another. Cinch Hook is such a place. It is just over the Rim where Hwy 87 and Hwy 260 split off and go their separate ways. When the snows come and deposit any amount that will stay on the ground deep enough to slide on, people migrate here like ducks to water. This is the place one can come for some fantastic sledding and sliding. Families set up cooking areas and make their outing a day of play. Witness these images.
