Mogollon Rendezvous October 27, 2009
Ever feel like you have a dual personality? One part of you wants to go this way and another part of you wants to go that way at the same time and you just can’t seem to make up your mind? Not that you are conflicted or anything, it’s just that you like going this and that way but have a hard time deciding which way to go today. Not to worry, you are not alone. Many people share your conflict, and have figured out a way to enjoy both worlds at the same time. How’s that for a hat trick? Oh yeah. It’s called Dual Sport Motocross riding and this past week-end more than two hundred riders enjoyed their conflicted nature at a rally called the Mogollon Rendezvous.
Jeff Lundquist, left and Don Hood, go over the list of registered riders while at the Payson Elks Lodge base camp late Friday afternoon.
Planning Stategy, Tom Kakavas, left, Craig Kakavas, and Zach Hatch, discuss their options early Saturday morning in the Elks Lodge parking lot.
Taking a picture for his scrapbook, Dale Keiser of Wickenberg, checks his exposure after making the image.
Frank Staley, president of Arizona trail Riders, left, and Forest Service Law Enforcement officer Dan Adams, go over the various trails and land use permit details Friday afternoon, before the start of the Mogollon Rendezvous event.
Looking into the sun and trying to find the road this rider slows down as he negotiates a wide, long curve.
Check out out the coating on those shocks. Dirk Houghton (front) and Glen Rees get in close and explain that the coating on the shocks makes for a smoother ride. Richard Varner, left, and Josh Randall roll the roll chart into place before the start of the event.
