For a change, this photographer (Andy Towle) had a holiday where he didn't work. Dennis Fendler stepped in and did a great job covering the events and being everywhere at once. Thank you, Dennis. However, I wrote the blurbs (cutlines) under the pictures, so if you aren't pleased with the comments, leave Fendler alone and come and find me. I'll take the hit. Hope your holiday was as good as mine.
Saluting the colors is a time honored tradition at events of this particular nature, especially during the birthday celebration of our nation.
Taking time out to pose for a group picture, these fine members of our military, mostly retired, remember many of their comrades who are not here to partiake in this ceremony.
Listening intently to the ceremonies during the patriotic service a soldier and his family are absorbed in the activities.

The extended family of Tom and Claire Waitz, came from Phoenix and Flagstaff and gathered at Green Valley Park to participate in the Fourth of July festivities.
Finding one of the few spots with shade this family and friends took full advantage of the situation.
Ashlyn and Taelyn Boocock are in the thick of it and having a great time during the Fourth of July parade down Main Street.
Ranee Forney, and Denise and Sarah Bomar ride a buggy pulled by a Llama in the Fourth of July parade. The sign on the side of the buggy is a tribute to Forney's mother Ronzella Zingales, who was very supportative of the Humane Society.
