Wild Wild West June 10, 2008
Oh Boy, oh joy, the imagination is a wonderful device to transport many young men to a different age and a different time and be imbued with a sense of what life was like for those men and women from a century ago. These cub scouts were able to be a part of that thanks to a special "Wild Wild West Zane Gray Cub Scout Day", conducted at Ramada's #1 and 2, at Rumsey Park, Saturday, June 7. Many activities were scheduled such as indian crafts, archery, roping, fire building and an obstacle course. The boys had hands on everything and enjoyed the morning and even earned merit badges. Yeah!
Christian Schulz, left, sets up his teepee fire as Scout Master Vern Greene watches and reviews with the other cub scouts how to safely put out a campfire.
Joseph Holman, left, and Alix Parker make their way over the balance beam as they traverse an obstacle course as part of the "Wild Wild West" Zane Grey Cub Scout Day, at Rumsey Park, Sat. June 7
Tony McDaniel, left, helps cub scout Garrett Baum practice the art of roping a steer. It isn't as easy as McDaniel makes it look.
Chaz Davis, left, and Joseph Holman finish the last portion of the obstacle course in a sack race to the finish line. It was a tie.

Question of the week
Do you think new Principal Anna Van Zile has a valid idea in eliminating the Asst. Principal and replacing it with an Athletic Director position that would share her duties as Principal?
