Teresa McQuerrey - reporter/Rim Review Co-editor
Born in Oklahoma, Teresa McQuerrey’s family came to Arizona in 1965. They
first lived on the Navajo Reservation, where her parents were teachers at
Ganado, then moved to Payson in 1970. Teresa graduated from Payson High
School in 1973 and attended Northern Arizona University, graduating in 1976
with a bachelor’s of science in mass communications.
She has been a working journalist for almost 30 years — about 12-1/2 of them
in Payson. She also spent 9-1/2 years in Camp Verde as the editor of The
Journal. A highlight of her career was when The Journal was selected as the
first non-daily Newspaper of the Year by the Arizona Newspaper Association
in 1998, and again in 1999, when it shared the honor with the Roundup, which
has won the prestigious award every year since.
During her free time she enjoys reading, cooking, crafts, her pets and
spending time with her parents and sisters, who all make their home in
Payson.
