Born in Los Angeles, Calif. but raised in Mesa, Carol La Valley's first taste of journalism came working as the sports reporter on Carson Jr. High School's Pathfinder newspaper.
Carol returned to Los Angeles when she was 19 years old, partially to escape what she then perceived as a "small town."
She attended Los Angeles Valley College and in 1989 obtained her degree in massage therapy from The Institute for Psycho-Structural Balancing.
She made her living for the next decade alternately as a licensed massage therapist and as the support services manager for Armstrong and Hirsch et al, a law firm specializing in the entertainment industry.
When family circumstances made a change of lifestyle necessary, she returned to Mesa and from there moved to the Rim Country to raise her daughter.
Opportunity knocked and, as she had always wanted to write, she jumped at the chance to become a reporter for the Payson Roundup newspaper.
