"murders, robbers, rapist, vandals"?
Why not throw in Huns, Visigoths, and Mongols?
I'm addressing a questionable method of extracting money from good honest citizens. Read my letter again Sir or Ma'am.
This little letter in the paper, which I considered a Public Service announcement, has brought out the usual anti-Ted team once again...there are always a few regardless of whether I'm advocating subsidized lunches for school kids or health care for those who can't afford it, which is 45% of Gila County residents.
Let me say this about that; the season for our friends and family who reside in the Valley of the Sun, and come visit the High Country to escape the heat, will soon be upon us. If you feel it is not right to warn them of the SPEED TRAP south of Rye...then keep it to yourself. As for me, I try to remember to issue a warning every time someone I know hits the Beeline. It's been my experience that when guests arrive with a ticket in hand, it has a tendency to spoil their weekend.
As far as respect for our traffic patrol methods: A Toll Road would at least be an honest tool.
The fact that Star Valley, Arizona has raised a MILLION DOLLARS per year on the backs of tourists passing through that short stretch of highway should raise some eyebrows...Oh, it has. Again I say, If you need money that bad, put in a Toll Road...I can understand that better than feeling like the Law Enforcement officers are being ordered to rob me.
In this century Pat we ride in horseless carriages...they are called cars or automobiles. You should ride in one they are very nice.
As a former Police Officer I can truthfully state that there are spots where writing a citation is much easier than others. There is pressure to issue citations, especially since the fines are so costly these days. Charging hundreds of dollars for speeding is in itself a crime. There are wrecks on the Beeline almost daily...I'm betting there are none between MP 235 and MP240. That's my point.
Not when they hide in the bushes...and saturate this one area. There are many more dangerous stretches along the Beeline that could use some patrolling. You know, the ones where accidents really happen: Corvair curve, Slate Creek Hill, jus to name a couple.
I don't mind the speed limits...I mind the fact that this one area is used to be nothing but a money maker at the expense of the public. PS I've never gotten a ticket there because I am aware of the cars hiding behind the bushes...except when they are writing one of dozens of tickets each day.
I'm shocked! I say Shocked...Pat Randall is opposed to a sorry scheme that the Republicans are trying to foist on Arizona....Watch out for flying pigs.
Are those the arrow head making mills Patricia? Pat dearly loves to talk about the good old days when she rode her pony to school...go have a smoke darlin' and dream about the past. Sen. Allen is a tool of the Tea Party...and that means she doesn't like poor people, poor children, state supported education or health care for the poor, even when it's paid for by the Federal Government. She is a terrible State Rep for anyone who is not rich or linked to big business.
Once again Pat Randall, keep polishing that road apple. Sen. Allen also believes the earth is 6,000 years old. She believes that climate change is not man made. I attended a meeting and heard her speak those words.
I've tried but Sylvia Allen has supported coal but not Solar power and blocked education funding. Maybe you can help us out Pat...do you know any good things Sylvia Allen has done for the state? We're waiting.
