What bothers you most about it?”

The lack of parental involvement which aides the child to lose vital self-worth. Once that becomes muddled in the waters of self-prescribed drug inducement, then the greater loss would be the child's future goals, dreams and hopes in creating a successful future for themself.

They prefer Facebook over local blogs such as this, not to mention being too restrictive in what type of content they could plug in. They are unable to put in media links for music, pics of themselves and others. It's a different world these teens live in than when we were kids. It is not uncommon for teens to openly berate their peers without fear of being tossed from the board.

To better understand why students dress the way they do, one needs to first understand that the media plays a very large part in their decision making process. Hip Hop is an extremely strong motivator in how our youth dress, act/interact with everyone in our community. Forget about how we were raised, as our formative years are completely opposite to the pressures our youth face every day. Yes, it would be nice if the youth of today had the niceties from our youth, be it 10, 20, 50, 80 years ago, but the age of immediate knowledge (internet capable i-Phones and tablets) has been with us for awhile and the kids know how to use it to their advantage. And for some of our students, today's modern parents want to be their child's friend as opposed to being a parent first; and will engage school officials and even authoritative figures over their child's right to act in a certain way.

Don't look for change too soon, as the media is continuing to plague social values which in turn captivates the still growing minds in our youth, who for the most part, are unable to make an informed choice in their behavior.

The best affirmative manner in which to combat the social ills of our times would be for parents to stand against those ideas which are invading our homes, and teach their kids proper values. But first, the parents must be living role models and demonstrate what those values look like. Unfortunately, some of our parents are unable to do so.

Several decades ago, a Texas (?) legislator offered that to solve immigration issues, would be to invade Mexico. Kinda makes one wonder what would have transpired if that actually occured such a long time ago. Think we could have saved $$$$$$ on what's being doled out now to illegals across America?

    Pat,
Following your suggestion, I Googled 'census 2010” and this is the first link which appears. It has all ten questions with a description as to why the question is being asked.

After looking at #8 again, think I'll just write in “American” in the proffered box. Reference #3, I most likely misread it, thinking the examiner wanted a mortage history on the home.

Funny thing about my phone number, I've had it listed since 1995, and I've never had a problem. Other than telemarketers anyway…modern day pirates if you ask me.

Interesting form to say the least.

4 Pat Randalls you say? So, if all 4 are in a grocery line, which one is you and which ones are the other 3? Just being ornery….cooped up inside most of the winter, when all I really want to be doing is counting laps on Arizona highways atop our motorbike.

Q1 & 2 deals with number of residents in your domicile on APRIL 1, 2010. April Fool's joke or serious? At this point, I just might put “0”, as I cannot guarantee we'll be in our home next month.

Q3 asks about type of home and interestingly, wants information on your mortage. (I don't think so, scooter!)

Q4 wants contact information, ie phone number. Again, I don't think so, scooter!

Q5 wants your name. Scooter, what part of 3 & 4 are you having problems with?

    Q6 seeks your gender.

Q7 wants your age and birthdate. Not sure about this one, but most likely will decline to offer my dob.

    Q8 inquires your ethnicity

    Q9 further denotes your race

Q10 appears to ask for multiple residencies. Think I'll continue being ornery by replying with something like…”in a van down by the river.”

Yup, government intelligence not hardly at work…again.

Interesting thread and commentary. Another thought I'm surprised no-one has brought forth thus far…increase the distance between you and the car in front of you. By increasing the distance, you won't drive into the snow or ice debris from the vehicle in front of you; giving you the opportunity to see the obstacle and nicely avoiding it.

Cite those with snowpack atop their vehicles? Which vehicles should be stopped and which ones should be ignored. If there was such a law, what would be a fair citation and what would not? Would a driver contesting a ticket be acquitted because their vehicle was stopped and cited when multiple hundreds of similar vehicles were allowed to pass by?

This is one of those situations when common sense makes practical sense. Use what the good Lord provided us in the first place, intelligence and the ability to use it.

And yes, I always brush the snow off all my vehicles before driving, so I don't dust or break your windshield. Vehicle insurance is expensive enough without claims against me.

I can't recall the exact name given to the oil field under our corn fields in the midwest, but instead of off-shore drilling, why not go after that massive collection of black gold? Can you imagine how quickly our nation could recover by bringing up that crude at a cost marginal to what we're being forced to pay now?

If I can locate the article, I'll post that later. Headed to the valley for parts installation on my steel stallion.

     Mike,

At present, I'm looking at the second or third week of March. I'll be putting teasers out for the next couple of months for those interested. So far, I've had lots of interest from friends afflicted with the 2-wheeled “illness”. As you posted above, no explanation is needed, reference our similar illness.
