Forest Service Ranger involved in shooting September 19, 2014
Sheep, goats, cows with bells on them,...Agriculture programs that promote these things IN the schools,Agriculture barns...for city kids to raise a agriculture project...All four of my kids stayed off drugs,, being involved with something that needed to be fed and cared for...on a daily basis.
The banks financed their fair projects...whether it was a vineyard being planted..on someones land..that was donated for kids to farm.or plant..or a herd of chapter ewes...that kept the brush down...or dairy goats...It was agriculture funding helping the schools..A project had to be presented...in a money making framework...coordinating a contract to clear brush..in the forests...and raising animals to do the job...This 'way of thinking"..isn't by happenstance...
.The kids learned their biology..from their animals... and learned about the land in relation to utilizing...it for their livestock..The kids learned how to budget, plan and demonstrate...their projects to bankers...and in return became responsible adults....
All of this 'stuff'' needs a 'brain' ...to coordinate funding at the high school level....We all eat, drink, consume, and interact with our forest environment..here in Payson.. Our .having a little agriculture at the high school level that solves the problems..of a firestorm consuming the fire resources of this town makes sense. AND it .needs a solution that brings funding to the high school from the department of agriculture..utilizing the kids ..in this community..as a solution...
The money would be better spent..adding a kindergarten program to the new college..making it a a opportunity.for speech and social working.programs for low economic families...to 'jump start' the kids'..Having kids on a college campus...is a plus for nursing programs...and pediatric..studies..Teachers at the school...would prefer it to be combined with a preschool..program. attracting...teaching families..to this area..I believe there used to be an emphasis..on that kind of forward thinking.
I don't agree with cookie cutter education...sharing is good
..networking good...but trying to make everything the same...is fruitless...society..is not ...the same everywhere...There are enough things to have a consensus on trying to survive economically..Approaching the problem of meeting educations goals takes creativity...
God uses all things for good...I guess even" Transition Town".
Not funding music programs has it's cost...Kids have a sense of music...whether they sing, play a instrument or passively listen to those that do these' things"..It's an invisible beat ...that goes unrecognized...that is....UNTIL IT IS GONE......Not funding culture .is a grave mistake..Losing our way is never a front page article...It happens insidiously in the "not celebrating'...Skeletal remains are never pretty to visit...especially for kids that are charged up with living....Shame on educational systems that make kids go to graveyards...everyday...
I would be more upset if a Mayor didn't express his opinions.on such subjects rather .than chastise him...when he does...Mayors especially deal with a knowledge of crime that not all citizens...are privy to..As a citizen of the area..a mayor's opinion is valuble to my understanding of crime in the area...if he backs up the opinion with facts about the community.crime profile..Given the great number of gun enthusiasts...and local gun clubs and ranges..locally..we have a higher number of people"packing" in Arizona traveling through this area..
The argument that the letterhead indicated that he was speaking for constituents...needed to be stated in the letter...to condemn a mayor for using town stationary is not fair...He's the mayor...
I believe the organization was "Mayors against illegal guns"..This doesn't need a constituent vote...Mayors are allowed to have opinions...and are valued for expressing them...I believe the point is that this is a country that allows us to voice our opinions
What I find disturbing...is that there is such a backlash..for his speaking his mind...
When did becoming a mayor preclude...his opinion....People want their mayors opinion...especially in a small-town...I like it..
A lively debate is the hall mark of democracy..squelching debate is ...something else..
