Thank you to the two Veterans that called me by phone. We share the same horror stories of the VA. My fight doesn't end against the VA, as I do not just speak for my husband, but for all Veterans! This is wrong, and politics stand in the way of the "right" things being done for the Vets. I feel..it's my quest to get the word out there, and to make sure this is not swept under the rug.
I have the proof, the evidence to show the conditions of the Phoenix Va medical hospital, and how the Veterans are treated.
Don't get me wrong, not all things are bad with the Phoenix VA, and the reason I say this is...there are some of the best doctors and surgeons there, and my hats off to them. The doctors that did the surgery on my husband, and took care of him are the best! But it's the problem of wait times, scheduling appointments, trying to get appointments that's the real problem. How many more Veterans have to die before something is done about it?
Ever since I started voicing my opinion, and making my evidence go viral. I have received many calls from the Phoenix VA, wanting to discuss the matter. They know they were being exposed, and started worrying about what I had to say, and exposing the truth.
I got pictures of the hospital conditions in patient rooms, which to say the least..were absolutely disgusting! I've seen dog kennels with better conditions.
Funny how my husband ended up going home with Pink Eye before his discharge from the hospital, not just one eye..but both.
His hospital stay occurred during the time of the scandal, and the hospital staff were running around trying to make quick changes to the hospital and patient rooms before the IG showed up. Such as a man coming into my husbands room while he slept to hang a picture over his bed on the wall. This man moved his bed from the wall waking him up. Taking the drill and drilling a hole right above his bed, in which plaster and dust fell all over my husband and even got into his eyes. Then the man moved his bed back up against the wall and walked out. Not a sorry, not excuse me, not even an attempt to clean the dust and plaster off of him.
Doesn't matter though..I already have a series of pictures that I took of the conditions of the room, the nasty filth, human feces, blood and urine all over equipment, the tables such as the table the Vets eat off of during their stay. The black grime on the floors, and in the restrooms. I got the proof and it's already been sent to the Inspector General long ago.
I agree with you 100%...my husband also is a Vietnam Vet but served in the Navy. He was going to the VA in Los Angeles, Ca. which was the biggest joke ever! His clinic was in Bakersfield, Ca. which they would schedule a appointment just for a blood draw, in which the drive to get there was 40 miles one way. Any other procedures had to be done in Los Angeles which was 150 miles, 300 round trip.
We moved here to Payson, hoping to find better health care from the VA, and to find out we both were dead wrong. It wasn't any better. However, the VA doctor he got to see when we first got here, he was good, but his hands were tied as everything had to be approved first through the VA office.
A routine eye exam was scheduled for him down at the Phoenix VA, which was actually his first eye exam. During the exam they found blocked blood vessels in his left eye, which indicated blocked arteries. It took over 2 years for him to be seen for the blocked arteries. Believe it or not..they didn't call him in until this scandal started taking place. That's when the phone calls for appointments started coming in.
If it wasn't for the scandal...I believe my husband still would be waiting.
I had enough of the crap from the VA and took it upon myself to apply for Medicaid for my husband, and he got it. Now he can see private doctors up here in Payson without having to even deal with the VA anymore. He's up to date on all his surgeries for all blocked arteries. No problem getting his medications and appointments are quick when it's urgent.
I really feel my husband would have died if he stayed any longer with the VA, and it's a quick choice I had to make in order to save his life.
Sad thing is..I had to take my complaint all the way to Bernie Sanders who is head of the VA committee, but I got results. Now they are looking into and investigating my husbands complaints on a personal basis without having to file with the Phoenix VA. There is more to our story, and what complaints we filed.
The list goes on and on.
I hope you get the needed care soon, and the VA finally gets the job done...but personally..I feel that this newly appointed rep for the Phoenix VA is just a puppet and only in there to keep the Vets quiet a little longer.
Oh Wow! you got me and my husband right up at the register ordering our food! Thanks! that's cool!!
We love Carl's Jr !!
When we lived in California, we always ate at Carl's, it's the best food ever!!
One other website to add to this is http://www.whocallsme.com when you receive a call from someone you don't know and want to check it out. You can go to this website and check the number, and you will see who is calling and are telemarketers. You will also be able to register new numbers that are not on the list. But once you sign up for the do not call registry, you have to follow through with complaints as to the number that keeps calling you. Once Do Not Call Registry receives so many complaints about that certain phone number, they will investgiate the company or telemarketer. For computer users, the website for the registry is http://www.donotcall.gov
I have been registered with Do Not Call for a long time. Once you register, it's for good for that number as long as you own that number. Unless you move or disconnect your phone, then the number goes off the list at Do Not Call. You can also register cell phones too. Up to 3 numbers are allowed.
Yes Pat, not wearing a seat belt was bad, but the use of her cell phone saved lives. Being able to call her mom who in return alerted local authories to block traffic and clear intersections saved lives.
I feel so sorry for this young lady, who ever sold her the car is responsible for the accelerator malfunction.
My prayers to the young lady and her family and the other people involved.
