The Rim Country Camera Club may not hold meetings and workshops right now, but the club is proceeding with production of the 2021 Rim Country Charity Calendar.
This will be the seventh year for producing and selling calendars highlighting the beauty of Rim Country.
Sales of the calendars reap at least $5,000 annually, all of which is donated to Rim Country food banks.
The yearlong project begins with soliciting sponsors who buy advertising to defray printing and publicity costs. That step has been tabled during this uncertain time when businesses are struggling to survive the pandemic situation. But the club intends to move forward with the project and address funding at a later date.
The decision rose out of the club’s commitment to deliver badly needed funds to our local food banks each winter by donating 100% of the proceeds from sales to the charities.
Photographers may submit electronic photos taken anywhere within the Rim Country through June 30. This year’s theme is “Seasons of Rim Country” depicting scenic landscapes, outdoor activities, wildlife, flowers and trees, architecture or events.
Each entry must include a high-resolution, horizontal, digital photo file (JPEG or .jpg format), location, name of photograph and photographer’s contact information.
Detailed submission rules may be found on the club’s Facebook page R3C – Rim Country Camera Club, or by sending an email to email@example.com.
December is a long way off, but the Rim Country Camera Club encourages sending calendars to friends and relatives around the world. Watch for a pre-order announcement this fall.
So dig out the photos you took last fall and winter, venture safely out to catch some spring and summer beauty, then send submissions to firstname.lastname@example.org by June 30.
