It’s summertime and the Rim Country Camera Club is underway with production of the 2020 Rim Country Charity Calendar.
The group invites photographers to submit photos depicting “Life in Rim Country.”
The club organized this annual fundraising effort several years ago to help the hungry.
Even with economic recovery underway, there is still a population of Rim Country citizens that remains unemployed, underemployed, or struggling on a fixed income.
Thanks to sponsorship of local businesses, the proceeds from sales of the calendar are donated to the St. Vincent de Paul Food Bank and Pine-Strawberry Food Bank.
The club invites anyone to submit photos taken within the Rim Country throughout the seasons.
Photos will be selected by a panel of judges and featured as a full-page picture of the month or smaller inserts throughout the calendar.
Photos depicting Rim Country places and people — scenic landscapes, events and activities, nature, wildlife — are encouraged.
Photographers must own the legal rights to original photos, which have been taken around Rim Country (from Happy Jack to the north, Forest Lakes to the east, the southern end of Roosevelt Lake, and west into the Mazatzal Wilderness).
There is no limit to the number of photographs that may be submitted.
Each entry must include a high-resolution digital photo file in JPEG or .jpg format, title and location of the photograph, and the photographer’s contact information. Photographs must not show the name of the photographer, logo or watermark. (The details of the photo and artist can be included in the metadata of the pictures, but must not be visible on the picture itself.) Proper credit will be given if the picture is selected.
If people appear in the photograph and they are recognizable, and especially if they are children, a model release form must be submitted with your entry (a sample form can be sent upon request). Inquiries regarding submission of photos may be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Send titled photograph, contact name, email address and phone number via website file upload server https://fromsmash.com or to email@example.com no later than midnight, Saturday, July 20.
The club meets monthly from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., the third Wednesday at the Payson Public Library, 328 N. McLane Road.
