A pair of fishermen

The annual Kids Fishing Festival in Green Valley Park draws hundreds of kids and their families for the free day of fishing.

Get out the gear and ready to go fish at the 13th Annual Kids Fishing Festival. The festival is from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, April 27 at Green Valley Park.

Presented by “Let’s Talk Fishin’” and the Rim Country Optimist, the event is open to everyone from ages 3 to 102.

No fishing license is required. Register any time between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. Some fishing gear is available to borrow on site.

There will be hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, drinks and ice cream for sale.

Numerous items, gift certificates and bucket baskets will be raffled off throughout the day.

Raffle tickets will be sold before and during the event. They can be purchased in advance from members of the Optimist Club.

Raffle tickets will be drawn throughout the day for a variety of gifts and services with the major prizes drawn after 2 p.m.

Fred Carpenter is providing music for the day.
