The always-popular (read: sell out) A Taste of Rim Country is just around the corner.
This year’s event is from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Saturday, March 9 at the Payson Public Library, 328 N. McLane Road.
The evening includes samplings of appetizers and desserts prepared and served by local Rim Country chefs. Guests enjoy complimentary wine tasting, with non-alcoholic beverages also available, and a 50-50 cash raffle.
Fred Carpenter will once again be the master of ceremonies providing a wide range of music.
Invitations to participate in this event went out to local Rim Country chefs and organizers — the Library Friends of Payson — expect a good response. Competition for the highly coveted “Best of the Best” award is fierce, and two other awards — Best Appetizer and Best Dessert — are also given out, as each guest is encouraged to vote for their favorite dish and chef.
Sponsorships for A Taste of Rim Country are now available at four individual levels: Platinum ($1,000 or higher), Gold ($500), Silver ($250), and Bronze ($100).
As a thank you, sponsors receive two complimentary tickets to the event (a $70 value), a complimentary one-year membership in the Library Friends of Payson, and recognition in publicity. Tickets only sold in advance
Tickets are now on sale at the Payson Public Library. Tickets are priced at $35 each ($20 of which is tax-deductible as a charitable contribution).
A limited number of tickets are available, and there will be no ticket sales at the door on the evening of the event. Tickets sell out fast, so organizers encourage everyone to purchase their tickets as soon as possible.
All proceeds from A Taste of Rim Country benefit the Payson Public Library, providing equipment and supplies, and supporting programs that are not included in its regular budget from the Town of Payson and Gila County.
