Are you part of any organizations/groups? Forest Parks homeowners

Why are you running? I am running for the people of Payson to assure they have a vote in big decisions that affect the town of Payson.

What do you hope to accomplish? Repeal the sales tax increase and maintain the existing park with a new pool and recreation center. In addition, I would like to finish incomplete projects such as Main Street, the university and the American Gulch.

What convinced you to run? I chose to run for this position to stand up for the people who are impacted by the bad decisions of the council.

What makes you the best candidate? I am the best candidate because I listen to the people and I speak up so their voice can be heard.

What life experience do you have that will make you a better council member? From my past job experience and my business ownership, I am familiar with parks and recreation and the Firewise programs. I understand the average worker and resident needs. I persevered through a hardship of losing my son at the age of 19 and it has made me realize my impact on the life of others.

What is your biggest weakness? Strength? My biggest strength is my perseverance in getting the people justice. My biggest weakness is that I am not the typical career politician.

Top 3 issues:

  • Repealing the sales tax
  • Saving our public Rumsey Park from private development
  • Implementing a Firewise plan for the town

Do you think the current council is doing a good job? No, they have not listened to the majority of the people and are acting on their own special interests.

What is the best thing they have done? Thirty years ago, they created Green Valley Lake.

Worst thing? Mayor and council increased the sales tax without a vote of the people.

What motto do you live by? Sometimes God will put a Goliath in your life for you to find the David within you.
