The Payson Elks Lodge, 1206 N. Beeline Highway, has started a new monthly recognition program for students in the Payson community. The Elks’ Student of the Month program is an effort to bring recognition to outstanding youth in the area.

A school panel in each participating school within the jurisdiction of the lodge selects youngsters to be named Students of the Month.

Students are nominated monthly by classmates and teachers in their schools and then screened by the school panel.

Multiple achievements, citizenship, scholarship and leadership are the basis for selecting students of the month.
