Sen. Sylvia Allen (R-Snowflake) recently announced she will not seek re-election in 2020.
Allen defeated Democrat Wade Carlisle for re-election last November.
In 2014, Allen was nominated to fill a Senate seat vacancy that occurred after the death of Sen. Chester Crandell. At the time, she was serving on the Navajo County Board of Supervisors.
Several candidates have already announced they plan run for Allen’s seat in the 2020 election, including Republicans Bob Thorpe and Wendy Rogers.
