A husband and wife were arrested in late September after police reportedly found drugs in their vehicle.

Tonto Apache Police Department officers made another big drug bust recently.

On Thursday, Sept. 30 at 3 p.m., the Tonto Apache Police Department contacted a husband and wife in the parking lot of the Sonic Drive-In.

After a positive K-9 alert on the vehicle, the contact resulted in the arrest of Robert Walker and Samira Walker on numerous drug possession and drug sales charges.

The Walkers were found in possession of more than 13,000 grams of methamphetamine, about 1,900 fentanyl pills, and a loaded semiautomatic handgun, according to Sgt. James Palmer with the Tonto Apache Police. Total street value of the seized drugs is about $1.4 million.

This is a continuing effort by the Tonto Apache Police Department and the K-9 division of the Gila County Sheriff’s Office.

In late August, Tonto Apache officers seized $1.5 million in drugs during a traffic stop and in late July, $1.5 million in fentanyl laced pills were found in a lunch box during a traffic stop.
