The Payson campus of Gila Community College celebrated the graduation of 16 students at their 2019 Commencement held at First Church of the Nazarene on May 8.

The invocation was given by Pastor Dixie Neal of Payson First Church of the Nazarene and Jan Brocker, vice president/secretary of the Gila Community College school board, welcomed graduates and attendees.

Speakers included Bailee Taylor; Cameron Mower, biology associate professor; Maia Crespin, executive director of the Rim Country Regional Chamber of Commerce; and Todd Haynie, Eastern Arizona College president.

Heather Perry, Allied Health associate professor, gave the degree announcements.

The nursing class of 2019 also celebrated with a pinning ceremony on May 8.

Payson campus dean Pam Butterfield welcomed attendees and Rev. Michael Ward gave the opening prayer.

The six Payson campus nursing graduates are Tabitha Dromiack, Susan K. Foster, Angela Hiatt, Missy Kindrick, Jonallyn Rodriguez and Heather Yung.
