Sheriff J. Adam Shepherd would like to release the following information regarding evacuations in the Roosevelt area as a result of the Woodbury fire.
The Sheriff would like to thank the residents of the Roosevelt area for their continued cooperation in the recent evacuations. We are pleased to announce there were no injuries to any of the residents and no loss of any structures as a result of the fire.
As of 11:00 a.m., this morning all evacuations in the Roosevelt area have been lifted. State Route 188 is now fully open from Globe to Payson with temporary reductions in speed. State Route 88 remains closed from Tortilla Flat to State Route 188 at Roosevelt Dam. The Tonto National Monument remains closed.
There are still active areas within the fire perimeter and smoke will be noticeable for the coming weeks. Because fire conditions can change please stay engaged with local News stations and social media for continued updates. Motorists are advised to use caution along the roadways where firefighters are working. Fire traffic will continue to be present in the area.
